SARTORIALLY WELL HUNG No.2 - DAVIES & SON
Afternoon Style Merchants. End of July, Patrick Murphy, Head Cutter off of Davies & Son (click&son), at No.38 Savile Row, took his Regatta blazer out for a little press and a summer tidy up. I nabbed Pat (clicky) on his way past my gaff at No.31 and we stuck it on my hooks. May I present Sartorially Well Hung, Davies&Son bespoke Regatta blazer, No.2 in the series. A jaunty little number, in a rich, rare mix of blues, a blue satin lining and natty gold checkerboard buttons. On Patrick, the stripe&jeans combo evokes Bruce Foxton in The Jam’s hay day. Pretty certain Foxton never dropped the Millwall pocket square flex, though.
DAVIES&SON REGATTA STRIPE BLAZER HUNG BY MR.PATRICK MURPHY, HEAD CUTTER
This coat has such a dignified, elongating cut compared the Mod Bum-Freezers- check the bit where Patrick walks in the video, as the back looks so clean and lithe. He cut it for himself, and insisted on entirely hand set shoulders and sleeve. Dont think Bruce had that option. Patrick has worked in tailoring on The Row for years including spells at Huntsman and Dege. “Been in the trade over 35 years .. my father and his were Also tailors.”. I filmed Pat in lieu of notes but footage is far better than any words I could type, so posting that too. He’s being illusive bout the cloth, but best you take it away Murph..
Stubbs out.
