No.5 ANDERSON & SHEPPARD SUMMER SCARVES
Look Hook No.5- Anderson&Sheppard Haberdashery scarf scene.
The Habba’ on Clifford’s is one of my favourite shops anywhere, never mind East-Mayfair (click). The famed luxury emporia majors in RTW relaxed elegance including heaps of gorgey scarves. While founded on umpteen models of tailored trousers made to order in bevys of superb cloth (clicky) it’s actually human material that makes the Haberdashery more than merely an exemplary trouser vendor. It offers acquired style savvy served with genuine life conversation by a unanimously cheerful crew.
RUSTIC LINEN
The frequent jingle of the achingly authentic shop bell marks frequent comings/goings, underscoring how The Habba jingles with activity- it does not buzz. Oh yeah, and scarves, too.
Within myriad excellence exists an amalgam of smashing scarf options, no matter what the ‘season’ is saying. Check them (click). “Summer scarves are usually an addition”, says Audie Charles actually back during Summer, in-house style Oracle. “They’re decoration really, but they do work as head coverings or kikoys too”. I pulled three styles out of their July roster. The expansive rustic linen numbers have an open weave with pale bands of subtle tone- Luxey but practical.
BIG IKATS
-Servings Suggestions-
They’re versatile international travel chic accessories for planes or the plains: lets be clear, these guys are premium temperature & style adjustors. Draping these lush fabrics inside tailoring is the move, and I heartily acknowledge the louche master of tailoring x scarf fusion is William Gilchrist (click) super stylist and friend of A&S. This particular ikat is top notch take on a global trad-classic. Handle them to see how are hand-blocked.
KITTY IKAT
CHIC SWEAT SWAP
The little ikat guys are chic and practical too. “These goes inside, like a bit of batique with a tee-shirt. Put your sweaty neck in them” Charles directs. “They never make you hot, but are comfy and cool and stops neck getting filthy with sun cream. In fact they look best when sweaty”. A cute little neckerchief trend bubbling away, on men, not so much in media, and these could drop with that. My favourite style merchant in this area Robert Spangle AKA Thousand yard Style (clicky) .
Stubbs out .
PS. Audie cautions against the ‘Ibizia quotient’- I don’t quite get it a moment, so best you go and she will explain, though imagine its got something to do with naff Easy Jet looks in terminal on return from the white island.
